Hello friends,
I’m back from my winter break with a fun announcement: I’m teaching this summer! I’m thrilled to return to the Slow Fashion sewing retreat in Maine, hosted by Samantha Hoyt, aka A Gathering of Stitches. This year I’m pairing up with my friend and mentor, Ruth Collins, to co-teach a pants fitting workshop. We will teach you the art of fitting with the body neutral method known as Top Down Center Out, which Ruth created. It’s a great opportunity to learn this revolutionary method straight from the source.
We’ll also be joined by Christine Haynes, who will lead a workshop on constructing zipper flys and pant closures, as well as Jessica Marquez, who will lead a refashioning workshop. All the details are here, and registration opens March 2 so sign up for Sam’s newsletter if you want to grab a spot (scholarships are here).
It’s hard to sum up how it feels to be at one of Sam’s retreats, but I can tell you that it’s already shaping up to be one of the highlights of my year. As I’ve written before, these retreats are a fully immersive experience; they give us a respite from daily life and a chance to slow down, focus on sewing, and enjoy the company of kindred spirits.
And if Maine is not in your scope for this year, keep an eye on this space. I am lining up more teaching engagements for local folks in the Pacific Northwest, so stay tuned for more details as soon as I have them.
I hope to see you in class this year!
xoxo,
Stacey
Stacey I am thrilled to be teaching in collaboration with you and grateful to Sam for the opportunity bringing us together and creating this wonderful workshop.
So exciting! And especially can't wait to hear about offerings in the Pacific Northwest! BARN over on Bainbridge would be great, as would Esther's. Islandwoos also does retreats, but expensive.... Anyhow, if you're interested I can help with legwork on this side.
